NBFAA

National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association

Founded in 1948, the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) is the nation's oldest and largest association dedicated to representing, promoting, and supporting the electronic life safety, security, and systems industry.

CSAA

Central Station Alarm Association

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is a trade association representing providers, users, bureaus, and other agencies of UL-Listed and/or FM-Approved Central Station protection services. It is legally entitled to represent its membersbefore Congress, regulatory agencies on the local, state and federal levels, and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) over the industry.

Now in its 57th year, CSAA continues to serve its members’ interests in an ever-increasing variety of ways.

Underwriter’s Laboratories

With 110 years as one of the world's leading product safety testing and certification organizations, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is synonymous with safety. Its UL Mark is the most recognized and trusted symbol of safety in the world.

Consumers and regulatory authorities value UL as a leader on safety issues. With public safety at the heart of UL's mission, UL acts as a safety resource and advocate. UL works closely with customers, regulators, insurers, retailers and consumers on research, technology and safety initiatives. UL also promotes public safety through education and outreach, including through and to the media. In 2007, UL reached more than 447 million consumers in North America, Europe and Asia with its public safety message.

 

Texas Commission on Private Security

The Private Security Bureau regulates the private security industry in Texas, including armed and unarmed security guards; alarm companies; residential and public video security companies; armored cars and armored car couriers; private investigators; body guards; locksmiths; and electronic access control device installers; as well as the companies that employ these individuals.  The Private Security Bureau was created in 1969 as the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies. In 1998, the Agency was renamed the Texas Commission on Private Security. The Commission became associated with the Texas Department of Public Safety in September 2003, and the Commission was abolished and reestablished as the Department’s Private Security Bureau in February 2004.
 

Texas Department of Insurance, State Fire Marshall’s Office

Since 1997, the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) has been part of the Texas Department of Insurance as directed by SB 371, 75th Legislature. In addition, the staff located at the SFMO headquarters in Austin, SFMO employees are strategically located across the state to respond quickly to requests. Mission: The State Fire Marshal’s Office operates with one goal in mind: to reduce loss of life and property due to fire and related hazards.
